GameBlast17 is this weekend and JustGiving will be running their own version all day Friday in the office!
What is GameBlast?
SpecialEffect is a unique charity that enable severely disabled people to use computers with whichever parts of their body that work best, enabling vital inclusion. Many want to simply play video games. As a result SpecialEffect adapt gaming gear for disadvantaged children so that they too can play.
Every year SpecialEffect run a gaming marathon called GameBlast and this year it’s bigger and better than ever. As you may have read, “gaming for good” is on the rise. Pro gamers and streamers regularly donate to charities and at JustGiving we’re increasingly interested in ways we can help gamers maximize their fundraising.
On Friday 24th February the JustGiving tech team will be running our own internal gaming marathon. The aim is to help SpecialEffect reach their target of £100,000. If you feel like supporting us our fundraising page is at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/JustGiving-Gameblast17
How can you follow us?
As well as showing you how to conquer faraway lands and beat up end of level bosses, we’ll be showcasing some great tech such as StreamNotify’s overlay service which displays real time donations inside our stream. If you fancy checking out their tech and JustGiving integration then head on over to https://www.streamnotify.com.
Most significantly you can help by sharing our page with as many of your gaming followers as possible. This is an amazing cause and we’re delighted to be doing our bit to support SpecialEffect.
